  • Call for Tender for ESPON Targeted Analysis

    ESPON Targeted Analisys Projects aim at supporting the extended use of territorial evidence adding a European perspective to policy development at national, regional and local levels. These projects use ESPON evidence in concrete practise with the objective of directly contributing to informing policy decisions and territorial development strategies. These activities are a continuation of successfulTargeted Analyses implemented within ESPON 2013.

    Spatial dynamics and strategic planning in metropolitan areas - SPIMA

    03 August 2016 - The objective of this activity is to identify policy options and methods that can help to achieve strategic spatial policy aims when dealing with the connections between strategic planning and management of spatial development in metropolitan areas.

    This Targeted Analysis focuses primarily  on metropolitan areas of the stakeholder cities.

    • European Metropolis of Lille, Department of Territorial Dialogue and Prospective

    • Terrassa City Council, Department of Territory and Sustainability

    Stakeholders needs

    The objective of this Targeted Analysis is to satisfy the stakeholders’ need for structured evidence as defined below:

    • Analysis of the strategic role of spatial planning for cities towards inclusive and sustainable growth within a metropolitan area, taking into account the national context, specificities of each metropolitan area as well as multi level governance arrangements.
    • Information shall be provided on approaches, including governance arrangements, to spatial and strategic planning that can help overcoming the above mentioned spatial development challenges at the metropolitan level in the specific context of each stakeholder´s metropolitan area.
    • Evidence shall be provided on policy tools and governance approaches which are useful and sensible to plan and manage spatial development at metropolitan area scale, taking into account the context of each stakeholder metropolitan area.

    Budget

    The maximum available budget for this contract is 300.000,00 Euro, exclusive of VAT but inclusive of all other taxes, disbursements, travel, accommodation and delivery costs.
